Use TeamViewer For a Remote Connection Between Two Computers

The ability to connect remotely to another computer is not something one needs every day, but when that need arises, it’s usually for something important. It could be facilitating remote assistance from a friend or someone more technical to solve the problem you’re having. It can also be necessary when you want to share something on your screen that needs to be visible to others in real time. Maybe you want to connect to your computer at home from another location.

Important: In early June 2016, TeamViewer was hacked. Their team responded with an official statement

TeamViewer provides a great solution to establish a remote connection between two computers and has more features than you expect. Let’s see how it works.

To get started, you need to follow this download link and download the version for Windows, Linux, Mac, or mobile devices. When executing the download, you will have the choice to install the app or run it once.

Install or run

For the installed version, you can choose to use the software for personal or professional use. It allows you to perform two main tasks – establish a remote connection or set up a meeting.

Set up a remote connection

When you launch the application, you will arrive at its Remote Control interface. Now you can share IDENTIFICATION And Password with a friend to share your machine or buy one from your friend to access their computer.

The requester must enter Partner ID and press the . button Connect with Partners. You will then need to authenticate the session by entering a password.

Set up a meeting

At the end of the meeting, you may want to start a new session or join an existing one. As you may have noticed, you will require your friend’s meeting ID to join the ongoing session.

Meeting interface

Such an ID is generated at the start of the meeting from scratch. And there is no limit to how many people can join. The meeting interface gives you all the perks to share files, initiate conference calls, and make VOIP or video calls.

In a meeting

You can also maintain a list of meetings using the schedule meeting link on the interface. It becomes part of your profile.

Create unattended access

This feature allows you to create a standalone session so you can access it anywhere. It is associated with Relation tab and asks you to register and create a user profile.

Add computer to contacts

Before that, you will need to choose a password for such a connection. You will then be able to access your machine remotely by logging into your account.

Terms are available to use the Team Viewer app or web service (navigate to website) for such an approach.

Other: Theo Add-ons tab, you’ll find a few options that we leave you to explore. The basics to get started using the tool are as simple as we’ve outlined. And all for free. In your profile, you can maintain a list of contacts and computers you may need.

Conclusion

I have used many tools that promise to provide such kind of service but this is the best one I have by far. Asking for more free than this is probably not true since it’s more than just web conferencing (and they have pro versions available).
