Therefore, today I will show you how you can turn off your Windows 8 computer in four different ways (including an extra tip!) based on the type of device you are using (desktop, laptop, and tablet).
Now, the ways discussed here are not the only ways to turn off Windows 8 on those devices, and you can really use most of these ways on any device. But I have categorized them according to what is most convenient for each device.
Shutdown Windows 8 desktop
In my opinion, the easiest way to turn off a Windows 8 desktop is to use Windows 8 Charms. No, I’m not talking about people’s fascination with Windows 8. I’m talking about a hidden transparent bar that you can open by pressing the Windows + C button or by dragging your mouse to the top right or bottom right corner of the screen.
When the Charm Bar appears, click Setting to open the settings bar (Windows + I direct shortcut). Here you can see some information about your computer like wireless options, notifications etc. Look for the power icon here and click it to shut down, restart or hibernate your monitor.
Shutdown Windows 8 laptop
We will be using the power button on the laptop to shut down Windows 8. By default, when you press the power button in Windows 8, it will keep your computer in sleep mode and so we will have to change it first with the following steps.

Step 1: Click the power icon on the taskbar and click the More Power Options link to open Power Options for Windows 8.
Step 2: Click the link Select the function of the power button on the left sidebar to open Advanced System Settings.
Step 3: On this window, change the settings for When I press the power button to turn off for both battery mode and plugged in mode, and save the settings.
From today onwards, you can simply press the power button and turn off your Windows 8 laptop.
Turn off Windows 8 tablet
Turning off your Windows 8 tablet is easy. Simply press the lock button on your tablet to bring up the lock screen, swipe the lock screen wallpaper, and click the shutdown button to power off your Windows 8 tablet.

You can always open run command and execute shutdown -s -t 0 Windows 8 command on all devices.
