Reviewing Evernote For Android and Its Cool Note Taking Features

We’ve written about Evernote many times before. When Evernote developers say that it acts as an extension of the brain, they are not wrong. While there are plenty of other online note-taking tools out there, what makes Evernote special is its feature-rich environment and cross-platform portability. Android is one of those platforms where it works and works well.

You can record and review notes on all your devices (be sensible here). I use Evernote a lot on my Android phone and laptop, and I must tell you that the Evernote for Android app is even more worth it.

If you haven’t started using Evernote, I recommend trying it out, but I must warn you, I cannot be held responsible if you become completely dependent on it to remember the tiniest details. Going back to Evernote for Android, see how it lets you take notes in a jiffy.

After you install the Evernote Android app, you’ll need to provide your Evernote login to get started. At first, when you use the app, it will do the initial sync. The interface of the application is very simple and all frequently used options are available directly on the home screen.

Let’s start with reading the notes you already have in your account. You can touch All notes to see all the notes that you have in your account, or you can browse them by tags and notebooks.

If you have multiple notes, click the search button to search for your notes.

In the latest version, you can save your notes on Android to search for them even when you are not connected to the internet. You can enable this feature from the settings menu, but make sure you have a considerable amount of free memory on your device before proceeding.

That’s all about reading notes, now let’s move on to the fun stuff – make notes. Unlike most laptops and desktops, Android devices have built-in cameras and great touchscreen input features that make taking notes easy and fun. When you click the new note button, you can start a note by writing it down. You can enhance your notes using the options at the bottom of the screen.

There are options like adding attachments, taking screenshots, recording your voice, etc.

One of the features I like best is the incorporation of Skitch, another application from Evernote Corporation, that allows you to simply doodle your notes and add comments and content to a captured image. When you’re done, click the asterisk button to save the content and sync it online (if you’re connected)

My judgment

I am a fan of Evernote. It’s easy and simple to record and access notes on all the devices I own. Now with a great app for Android, it makes it even more fun and productive. How about you?
