On Echo devices, the default music streaming service is set to Amazon Music. However, you can easily use other options like Apple Music and Spotify with Alexa. This is the way.

Link Spotify with Alexa
The ability to change the default music streaming service is available on the Alexa mobile app and on the web. But first, you have to link Spotify to Alexa using the iOS or Android app. Amazon offers a similar Alexa app on Android and iPhone. We will be using the Alexa iOS app in the screenshot below. Step 1: Open the Music & Podcasts menu in Alexa Settings (refer to the steps above).
Step 2: Select Default Service.
Step 3: Click Change under Music.
Step 4: Select Spotify from the bottom menu.
If you want to use Spotify to listen to your favorite playlists, you should change the default podcast app to Spotify from the same menu.
Step 5: Tap Change in podcast and select Spotify.

Alexa’s mobile app is quite feature-rich. The same is not true for the web version. That’s basic at best. You can easily set Spotify as your default music player with Alexa on your Amazon Echo. Here’s what you need to do.
Step 1: Go to Alexa on the web. Sign in with your Amazon account details. The company may require two-factor authentication if you have it enabled.
Step 2: Click Settings from the left sidebar.
Step 3: Select Music & Media in Alexa Preferences.
Step 4: Select ‘Select default music service.’
Step 5: Select the radio button next to Spotify and click Done.

If you want to play some music on your friend’s Amazon Echo, you don’t need to go through the lengthy process outlined above. You can connect your phone to your Amazon Echo via Bluetooth and play your favorite Spotify playlists. You can check your Amazon Echo device from the website and Alexa mobile, and connect it to any phone using Bluetooth.

Step 1: Open Alexa and go to the Devices tab.
Step 2: Select your Echo device.
Step 3: Tap ‘Connect Device’.
Step 4: Enable Bluetooth on your phone and connect it to Amazon Echo.
