How to Fix Facebook Keeps Stopping Error on Android

1. Facebook is down

2. Check for updates

It’s possible that a recent app update broke something and the social media giant released a patch that you’ve been avoiding downloading from the Play Store.

Open the Play Store app on your Android phone and check if there are any updates available and if so, quickly update your apps. Check if it fixes the Facebook stop error. You’ll see Update instead of Open if available.

3. Clear RAM

8. Check Battery Saver Mode

Most smartphones have a Battery Saver Mode. The task of this feature is to check for battery-draining apps and force close them if necessary. Usually, it works as intended but sometimes, they are overpowered and force close the apps that you are actively using.

To check, open Settings and open Battery & performance. In your smartphone, it may be named differently. Tap Choose app.

Search for Facebook and open it. Make sure it is not set to active. Try setting No restrictions to check if this solves the problem. If so, you know what’s going on. Try different settings here and find something you can live with.

9. Clear cache and data

If after using the app for a while, you see the same error, go back to the Facebook app settings (like in point 7) and tap on Clear data. Force quit the app again.

Now you will see two options. Clear all data and Clear cache. Tap them one by one and check the Facebook app again now.

10. Reinstall the app

An application consists of some files that are stored on the internal memory of your smartphone after you install it. The Facebook app is no different. Sometimes these files get corrupted and there can be many reasons behind that. Uninstall Facebook and go back to Play Store to reinstall it. That will create new files from scratch, possibly overwriting corrupted ones.
