Recently, web advertising has become a hotly debated topic on the internet. They are poorly designed and poorly coded. They invade your privacy by tracking your every move on the web. This means that sites for the top news sites on the internet are a lot heavier and take longer to load.
On desktop, blocking ads and tracking is pretty easy (I recommend starting with Ghostery). On Android, you can’t enable OS-wide ad blocking unless you’re rooted (have an ad blocker in your browser). Apple, which has an ad-free business model, surprised everyone by introducing a “Content Blocker” in iOS.
The functionality of this feature is that it allows developers to create apps that block ads and tracking directly in Safari (and apps that use the Safari View Controller to load web pages). However, not in a third-party app.

How to Install and Enable Ad Blocker
As you would expect, there are many ad blockers available. Most of them are paid and some of them are free. But it doesn’t matter which one you choose, most of them work the same way.

Right now, content blocking apps are just a list of links to be blocked, that’s all. The way apps differ based on the list they use. There will be slight differences between applications. Apps do not track your browsing data.

Speaking of performance, The Brooks Review compared 15 such apps and found that 1Blocker came out on top. It is also one of the few blockers that allows you to control specific content to block. If you want to block all ads, 1Blocker is free to use. But if you want to block individual trackers, social widgets, or adult content, you’ll need to upgrade by paying $2.99.
Once you’ve downloaded one of the apps, you’ll need to enable that particular app Content Blocker from Safari’s settings.
So go to Setting -> The hunt -> Content Blocker and enable the application you want.
Mostly, that will be the end of your road. However, some apps allow you to customize your experience and whitelist sites.
Some Apps Are Allowing Ads: Recently there was a controversy over apps like Crystal and Purify being paid to allow some ads to go through. This is nothing new. They are basically running the same program as the Ad Block called “Ads Accepted”. The good news is that this feature is disabled by default.
How to load pages without content blockers
It will happen. Since apps are blocking third-party JavaScript, sometimes integral parts of a website can be missing.
If you want to reload the current page without content blocker, just press and hold the . button Quicken button and select Reload without content blocker.
You can also add sites to the white list. The way this app works is different from the app. You can find the option in the app itself or as an extension. Cleaning has it as an extension.
All or nothing
The biggest limitation right now with iOS 9 content blockers is that you can’t pick and choose exactly what you want to block. You can’t say that advertising from a network or text-based advertising is okay.
Some apps, like BlockBear and 1Blocker offer options to just disable trackers or share buttons. But for now, the only way to ensure that all trackers are disabled, is to block all ads – because (almost) all ads are tracking you.

Yes, it’s great for your iPhone’s battery life and load times that the ad blocker is finally here. But keep in mind that currently, the majority of free sites make money from advertising. So if you are a fan of a site that serves discreet ads, add them to the whitelist.
