Enable/Disable Tabs Taskbar Preview for IE, Firefox – Guiding Tech

Tabbed browsing is one of the best features that most browsers have adapted to today. Now, when multiple tabs are open at the same time, each browser has its own default way to display taskbar thumbnail previews in Windows 7.

For example, Internet Explorer shows a preview for each open tab at the moment. The advantage is that we can click on any tab (thumbnail preview) to maximize the browser focusing on that particular tab.

i.e. preview tabs

On the other hand, browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome show a single tab thumbnail in the taskbar preview (the one that is in focus at the time of minimizing). This helps avoid confusion when having to open too many tabs.

Note: If you want to revert the settings back to default or change them from time to time, you need to navigate to the same location and check or uncheck the said boxes respectively.

Conclusion

Both styles are beneficial in their own way. Since I have a lot of tabs open, I choose to disable individual tab previews.
