1. Shortcut keys to switch between views
Each Finder window can be viewed in four different ways: Icon view, list view, column view, and cover flow view as you might have noticed if you’ve ever tried the four buttons at the top of each window.

4. Set Default Column Size in Column View
If you choose to have any Finder window display its elements in column view, you may want a different column size than the one provided by default on Finder. However, if you resize the columns but then change the view for some reason, then when you return to the column view, they will revert to the default size.
To keep them at the size you want even when you change the view, just hold the . button ALT when resizing the columns and they will stay that way.
