Whenever I want to watch movies or play video files, my first choice is KMPlayer. I actually like it so much that I stream all YouTube videos to the KMPlayer interface. And that’s because it never says “No” to any type of video file. Besides, it offers a wide range of advanced features that combine perfectly with user-friendly controls.
One of them is the Control Box; it contains almost every tool and an alternative to every shortcut. Let us get acquainted with it and see how it works.
Cool Tip: If you are a movie buff, you should also check out how to edit subtitles in KMPlayer and how to mark media locations using KMPlayer.
First of all, we should know how to start the Control Box. Right click on the interface and select Control Box from the bottom. Or you can simply use the Alt + G keys.
The dialog basically has Video Controls, Audio Controls, Playback Controls, and Preferences. Those are the four icons at the bottom of the Control Box in the order mentioned.
Video control
Apparently, the first tab in Video controls can be used to adjust brightness, saturation, and contrast (top to bottom) in terms of both hardware and software. The Effects tab allows you to spice up your videos and experience a different taste of your favorite videos. I have applied gray scale as shown in the image below.
In the Monitor tab you can play with the screen size, aspect ratio and the like.
Sound control
Audio is mainly for playing songs and the Equalizer tab is used for fine-tuning song types.
Plus, you can always apply Effects and presets to play songs and relive every mood to the fullest.
Playback Control
When talking about playback, we are mainly referring to repeatability conditions, media speed, and search features. In addition to these basic tones, the tabs also have Capturing and Captioning tools. If you click High level in any of these you will be taken to their respective editing tools.
Interest
There are some things that users always want to be set as default. They are nothing but user preferences. And the Options dialog stores almost every bit for the user to modify. The options are huge. You have to scroll and browse through them to make sense of each.
Conclusion
While there are individual tools for each of the aforementioned features, the Control Box acts as a compositing and flexible tool. I recommend remembering the keyboard shortcuts or getting used to using the Control Box to be able to handle the player quickly and seamlessly.
