How to Open Accidentally Closed Tab on Google Chrome

Sometimes, when we cycle through different open tabs in the browser, we accidentally click the cross (X) button causing the tab to close. This is a common problem with Google Chrome users because the browser does not yet include the tab overflow feature, which is available in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

So if you’re a user who keeps multiple tabs open in the Google Chrome browser all the time, identifying them can be a problem and it could end up spending a considerable amount of time figuring out which browser tab you accidentally closed while doing so. Therefore, you must know how to quickly reopen closed tabs before losing track.

There are two methods to open recently closed tabs in Google Chrome.

Method 1:

You can retrieve an accidentally closed tab with a keyboard shortcut. Press Ctrl+Shift+T or right-click the tab bar and click Reopen Closed Tab. A new tab will open and it will load the same web page that you accidentally closed recently. If you press Ctrl+Shift+T again it will open the second most recently closed tab. This shortcut also works on Firefox.

Method 2:

Another easy way to reopen closed Chrome tabs is to access your browsing history, which is a built-in feature of the Chrome browser. Press Ctrl+H or type chrome://history/ in the address bar (as shown in the screenshot below) and it will show you all the tabs you had open before.
