Windows 7 introduced the option to create a desktop wallpaper slideshow. This feature, available in all versions of Windows 7 higher than Windows 7 Basic, allows you to run random desktop wallpapers at fixed intervals.
I think this is a pretty cool feature and you should definitely enable it if you have Windows 7. I activated it a few days ago and see a new wallpaper every time I check the pretty fresh desktop.
This is how you can enable the slideshow feature on the desktop in Windows 7.
Right click on the desktop and click “Personalize”.
You will see the Personalization panel open. Here you can change the background image, background image and more. Click the “Desktop background” link at the bottom.
Now, when you click on the desktop background link, you will be directed to a window where you can select or deselect the wallpaper. At the bottom, you’ll see a slideshow option, but it’ll be grayed out until you select multiple images.
Select two or more images by clicking on them, or simply click the “Select All” button at the top to select all backgrounds.
The image location drop-down menu helps you select the destination on your computer from where you want to get the image. You can use the default windows desktop wallpaper or any other folder containing beautiful images.
At the bottom, there are options for image placement, how long you want the wallpaper to change automatically, a checkbox to shuffle them and display them in random order, and an option to automatically turn off the wallpaper when the laptop is on battery power (not applicable on desktop).
Once you’ve completed all the options and selected a background image for your slideshow on screen, you can click save changes and the slideshow will start running from there.
