Firefox 29 is the biggest upgrade to one of the most used browsers ever – in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Now, with smooth curves and soft colors, Firefox looks better than ever. But not only in appearance, Firefox 29 changes some of the most fundamental parts of the browser. Version 29 also makes big strides in customizability. You can change the position of many icons and tools, customize it however you want.
Here’s an overview of all that’s new in version 29.

Inevitably, Firefox 29 looks a lot like Chrome. But it is not a blatant copy. Many features like curved tabs, hamburger menu icons seem to be inspired by Chrome but they work in their own unique way.
For example, tabs emerge from the inner borders of the active tab, forming a web page (in Windows 8).
Another aesthetic change is the way the tabs work. When you open multiple tabs, any inactive tabs disappear in the background. They don’t have a curved tabbed border around them (just a divider) and they blend in with the window instead of highlighting. This is really helpful for internet addicts who keep dozens of tabs open all the time and get overwhelmed by all they need to get done.
And the options menu is possibly the best thing about version 29. It contains all the options for the app. Speaking of menu icons…
In the past few Firefox releases, interacting with the browser’s settings and other functions took place only through the iconic Firefox button. Now it’s gone. The options available in the menu are on the far right, and it’s better in my opinion. The new menu is much more flexible and easy to access.
Also, as you may have noticed, the menu icons are quite large and touch-friendly (Does anyone have a touchscreen Firefox OS tablet?).

Click the menu button and then custom and the custom screen will be displayed. On the left, you’ll find buttons and options that aren’t currently on the menu or the address bar.
Pick anything, drop anywhere. Simple as that.
The parts of the browser that you can edit will be displayed with a dotted border – that is the menu, the address bar, and the bookmarks bar.
These options allow us to build cool workflows, offering options like Launch, Email link And Subscribe to RSS right next to the address bar. This means you won’t have to dig 3 layers deep to do any of it.
And of course, the same applies to any add-ons you might install.
All-new Firefox Sync
Firefox Sync has been around for a while. This feature allows you to link your browser bookmarks, tabs, passwords, etc. to your Firefox account, which you can use on other devices running the Firefox browser, such as Android phones (or apps). third-party devices like iCab for iPad) and all your data from other devices. browser will be imported immediately.
The new version is better in every sense. If you’re using an older version of Firefox Sync, make sure you’ve upgraded. The previous version used a pairing code and recovery key. Here, just create an account, enable sync and that’s it. Firefox Sync now works as smoothly as Chrome Sync.
It may seem like a small thing right now, but it’s the first step toward Firefox’s cross-device dominance. I know many people who use Firefox on the desktop but swear by Chrome on Android. With the new release of Firefox for Android, tied to Firefox Sync, the browser has taken another push into the Android market share.
Other improvements
Marking has been made a lot easier. Clicking the bookmark icon will bookmark the page to the default location. There is no pop-up menu to customize the selection. If you want to do that, click the icon again.
Final thoughts
For me, a casual Firefox user, all these changes are really impressive. Firefox 29 is fun to use on Mac, and it’s incredibly fast (faster to me than Chrome). But on Windows, I’m still a staunch Chrome fan, mostly because I’m ready to go my way.
