2 Ways to Block YouTube Channels on Desktop and Mobile

If you have YouTube search history turned on, or if you’re using YouTube while signed in to your Google account, chances are its algorithm picked your preferences and suggested content based on that. However, there may be videos that you accidentally clicked on and now want to remove from this list. To do that, you can block those YouTube channels.

How to block a YouTube channel

There are two ways to block a YouTube channel. By removing them from your feed, you can scroll through your YouTube homepage without seeing videos from that particular channel. However, to remove an entire channel from your search results, you’ll need to block it completely. Let’s see how to do it using both the desktop and mobile YouTube apps.

Method 1: Block YouTube channels from appearing on your feed

If you only want to block a YouTube channel from appearing on your feed, lightly ban it with the don’t recommend channel option. This will ensure that videos from this channel stop appearing on your homepage while still watching the YouTube channel from search results. Here’s how to do it.

Using a web browser

Step 1: Open Youtube on your web browser.

Step 2: Scroll through the page to find a video from a relevant channel, or use the search bar to find it.

Step 3: Then, you access the video and click on the ellipsis icon.

Step 4: Here, click on ‘Do not recommend channels’.
