Install Rainmeter

Normally, a Rainmeter theme can be packaged as a Rainmeter Skin Installer (.rmskin) and just double clicking it will install it on your system. After you install the theme, Rainmeter will restart and load with your latest installed theme.
Sometimes creators just package theme files as ZIP, RAR, or 7Z archives and you’ll have to unzip that into the Rainmeter theme folder.

Basically, all the components also known as widgets that you see on your screen are nothing but compiled info files. To add an element, expand the theme and select the INI file you want to load.

You can also save your custom design as a theme file. Once you’ve decorated your desktop after mixing and matching widgets from different theme files, open the Themes tab on Rainmeter. Here you can save your current settings as a theme and apply them later with all settings intact.
