10 Best Tips and Tricks to Use Threads Like a Pro

Topics – Facebook’s Twitter rival is off to a good start. Threads already has 5 million users without four hours of launch. While the market is full of Twitter clones, Themes stand out among them due to their wider availability and great integration with Meta products like Instagram. 1. Turn off unnecessary accounts

The theme menu shows trending updates from random accounts. If you don’t like a particular account, use the steps below to mute them.

Step 1: Open the Home menu in Threads.

Step 2: Tap the three horizontal dots menu next to a topic and select Mute.

Repeat the same for all unnecessary accounts to trim your timeline for a better experience.

2. Keep your thread replies to limited records

When you create a new topic, anyone can reply to it. If spammers or bogus profiles are running your Thread experience with unnecessary replies, limit replies to profiles you follow or the account in question.

Step 1: Launch the Themes app and tap the Compose button at the bottom center of the screen.

Step 2: Enter your subject and tap ‘Everyone can reply’ at the bottom. Select the relevant option.

You can also change your privacy settings after posting a topic. This is the way.

Step 1: Find your posted topic and tap the three horizontal dots menu next to it.

Step 2: Expand the “Who can reply” section and limit replies to profiles you follow or accounts in question.

3. Follow account from Instagram

When you create an account on Threads, the app will ask you to connect your Instagram ID and get the relevant information from there. You can easily find and follow the same accounts you follow on Instagram.

Step 1: Open Themes and tap on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. Tap the two bars in the top right corner to open Settings.

Step 2: Select ‘Follow and invite friends.’ Tap ‘Follow Account from Instagram.’

Step 3: You can follow your Instagram account on Threads.

Even if these accounts aren’t already on the Thread, their profile will show as pending until they join.

4. Change your profile picture on the theme

When you sign up with your Instagram account on a Thread, it will use your existing profile picture. You can also set a different display image on the Theme.

Step 1: Open Themes and tap your profile icon in the bottom left corner..

Step 2: Select ‘Edit Profile’ and tap on your profile picture. Select ‘New Profile Picture.’

Select another photo from your phone’s gallery and use one of the preset filters to edit it.

5. Customize your notification experience

If your inbox is flooded with mentions, likes, retweets, and other alerts, it’s time to adjust the notification settings on Threads.

Step 1: Open Themes and tap on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. Tap the two bars in the top right corner to open Settings.

Step 2: Open Notifications and select Subject and reply.

Step 3: You can turn off the notification category completely or limit it to the people you follow.

Step 4: Go back to the previous menu and select ‘Following and followers’. Turn off notifications for new followers, follow requests, account recommendations, etc.

6. Share your thread profile

You can go to your profile and tap ‘Share Profile’ to send the account link. You can also use the Instagram driver to share Thread profiles.

Step 1: Open the Instagram app and tap on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. Tap the three horizontal lines at the top and open Themes.

7. Take breaks on topics

Similar to other social networking apps, Themes can be addictive at times. You have the option to schedule a reminder to take a break when you spend a specific amount of time at once on a Thread.

Step 1: Open Themes and tap on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. Tap the two bars in the top right corner to open Settings.

Step 2: Select Account and tap ‘Rest.’

8. Hide Words and Phrases

As part of the privacy feature, you can hide certain words and phrases on Topics to keep your timeline clean.

Step 1: Open Themes and tap on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. Tap the globe icon in the top left corner.

Step 2: Open the hidden word.

Step 3: Hide offensive words and phrases. You can also manually add custom words and phrases.

9. Add posts to Instagram Stories or Feeds

You can easily add posts to your Instagram story or feed. When you come across an interesting topic, tap the share icon and select Add to Story or Post to Feed.

You can use all the story editing features, filters, and add the same features to your Facebook stories.

10. Enable profile on theme

By switching to a private account, only approved followers can check and interact with your Threads and replies. It’s a useful trick to keep prying eyes out of your account.

Step 1: Open Themes and tap on your profile icon in the bottom left corner. Tap the globe icon in the top left corner.

Step 2: Turn on the ‘Personal Profile’ toggle and confirm your decision.
