If you have a large number of friends on Facebook, which most of us do these days, you’ll agree that one big hassle that comes with keeping a long list of friends is keeping track of birthdays. Granted, you don’t have to remember each number, but even if the number is greater than 10, chances are you won’t remember them.
For those of you who don’t possess superhuman memory abilities, all these dates can be a little daunting. As a member of this Facebook group, you can write all of these birthdays in your daily planner (good luck) or you can read this guide and let the tech do all the work for you. I recommend the latter.
This article is about JibJab, a third-party tool that sends you Facebook birthday notifications. Now, Facebook shows birthdays on your homepage sidebar and also sends out weekly emails (I guess), but neither method worked. Let’s see how JibJab works.
Activate JibJab
Step 1: Follow the link to the JibJab website. Look near the top for the image shown below. Click the Connect to Facebook icon.
Step 2: The following window will appear, asking for permission to access your basic information and your friends’ birthday information. Select Allow.
Step 3: Another Authorization Request follows the first, this time with the aim of sending you email notifications of upcoming birthdays in your ever-expanding Friends List. Select Allow if you want to be updated by email and Don’t allow if you only want to see on Facebook. Although, the email feature is the whole point.
JibJab will send you an email to whatever address you have associated with Facebook and within that email there will be a link to the Birthday Announcement page similar to the link below. On that page, there will be a list like the one shown below, showing upcoming birthdays and providing the option to send digital cards to each person.
And now when you’re done, you’ll get a daily email about upcoming birthdays on Facebook. All your friends will be amazed at how thoughtful you are when you always send them happy birthday emails on time. Give praise! You deserved it. ????
