How to enable story archive
Story archiving is enabled by default on Facebook. Whenever you post a story, it is automatically taken to the Archives section after 24 hours.
How to view archived stories on Facebook
A story will only be available in the archive after it has been there all day. If you delete the previous story, you will not be able to view it in the archive.

How to view archived stories on the Facebook mobile app
There are two methods to do so.
Open the Facebook mobile app on your iPhone or Android phone. Tap the Show all stories button on the home screen. On the next screen, tap the Archive icon at the top.
Here you will find all your archived stories.
If you don’t find the Archive option using the above method, don’t worry. In the Facebook app, go to your profile screen. Tap the three-dot icon and select Archive from the menu.
Most of the time, you will be taken directly to the Archive Story section. In case you don’t see your stories, tap Archive Stories at the top.

How to view archived stories on the Facebook web
Open the Facebook website and click the More Stories icon (it looks like an arrow) in the Stories section.
Click the Archive option from the left sidebar. You will be taken to the Stories archive page, where you will find all your archived stories.
Alternatively, go to your profile screen and click More > Story Archive.
You will find your archived stories.
How to disable the story archive
If for some reason you don’t want Facebook to archive your stories, you can turn off archiving. Once disabled, Facebook will no longer save copies of your stories. Here’s how to do it.
How to turn off story storage on Facebook mobile app
Step 1: Go to the Story archive as shown above.
Step 2: When you see your archived stories, tap the Settings icon (or tap the three-dot icon > Settings) present at the top. Then, turn off the switch for your Save to Archive option.
How to turn off Facebook web story archive
Step 1: Open the screen to store Stories using Facebook web as shown above.
Step 2: On the page that opens, click the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
Step 3: From the pop-up menu, click the Turn off story archiving button.
How to delete stories from Facebook archive
If you want to permanently delete stories from your Facebook account, you’ll also need to delete them from your archive. Here are the steps to delete stories from Facebook’s archive on mobile and desktop.

Step 1: Open the Stories archive on the Facebook mobile app.
Step 2: Tap the photo you want to delete. Then tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner and select Delete photo from the menu.

Step 1: Open the Facebook website and go to the Archive Stories section. You’ll find all of your archived stories here. Click the story you want to delete.
Step 2: Click on the three dots icon in the upper right corner and select Delete photo from the menu.
How to download a story from the Facebook story archive
Let’s say you published an interesting story on Facebook not too long ago and now you want to share it on Instagram. If you don’t have a copy, you can always download it from your Facebook story archive to your phone. Once downloaded, you can publish it on Instagram.
To save a photo, go to the Storage section of the Facebook mobile app. Then select a photo and tap the three-dot icon. From the menu that appears, tap Save Photo.
If you want to reshare a story on Facebook stories, Facebook also provides a very convenient option for that.
Just go to the Archives section and select a photo. Then tap the Share button in the bottom right corner. You will be taken to the story editing screen where you can add effects, text and doodle on it.
