Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time on Google Drive, as I use it to replace Microsoft Office, so searching for fun and interesting ways to use it led to finding some utilities. Very handy extension. If you plan to use this service often, it’s best to speed things up with an add-on or keyboard shortcut. Google Drive is so useful that we will definitely cover how to use it even offline.
Today, we’re looking at three Google Chrome extensions to make it easy to save web content or online content to Google Drive. These extensions are usable right from any web page and make saving images or text very easy. You can right-click on any image and save it to Google Drive instantly. There are also two extensions that allow saving online articles as PDFs or image files.
Let’s check them out one by one.
Save documents to Google Drive
Save documents to Google Drive allows to save plain text directly to Google Drive. Download this extension here.
Upon first use, you need to accept that the extension may use your Google Drive account. Click the extension icon from Chrome’s navigation bar to open the upper window and manage the text you want to save.
Any word in Content or Title the text area can be changed before saving the file. Once saved, the file will appear in Google Drive.

Send to Google Drive
Save any page as PDF instantly with Send to Google Drive. Download this extension here (UPDATE: This tool is no longer available).
This extension works by sending a URL to PDFCrowd.com and then saving the converted file directly to your Google Drive. Any page can be saved as a PDF, and you can download it to open in a PDF reader or view it in Google Drive.
Save to Google Drive
Save any image or URL to Google Drive with Save to Google Drive. This is Google’s own extension and can be downloaded here.
Right click on any image and click Save images to Google Drive. The file will be created at the root of your Drive account, as seen here:

Change the default save location from the extension’s settings. Select Change destination directory and choose another default folder.
You can also save links with this extension, which will save the entire page as an image file.
Just click on the icon from the Chrome bar and it will scan the entire page, saving it to your drive account.
The web page (usually very long) will be saved as a large image that you can then download or view there in the browser.
Conclusion
Whether you’re saving images, text, or an entire page at once, these extensions come in handy. A side effect of these great add-ons is that your Google account will be clogged with loads of interesting images and articles, which is not a bad result!
