iOS has native contact syncing for cloud-based accounts. For instance, you can connect multiple accounts like iCloud, Gmail, and Exchange and display all the contacts stored in those accounts. You can also choose a default account so that any new contacts you save will not be duplicated across all linked accounts.
Although the system is simple, it has limitations. For example, you cannot transfer contacts from one account to another or specify a destination for a new contact. Of course, there is a workaround that we will cover below.
Do you have multiple accounts linked to your iPhone and want to add a contact to a specific account (say, Exchange for work) instead of your iCloud or Gmail account? For example, I have a personal Gmail and a work Gmail account, and I have the contacts of both accounts synced to my iPhone. Now, if I attend a business event where I create a new contact, I’ll want to add him to my work Gmail account.
In Android, this is as simple as selecting another account from the drop-down menu while adding a contact. However, it is not so simple in iPhone. Let’s see what is the way out for our iPhone users.

Try changing the default account
Go Setting -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar and make sure you’ve added all your accounts. Now swipe down until you see Contact part. Here, choose Default Contacts and switch to another account.
How to save a contact to a non-default account
Switching the default account every time you want to save a contact to a specific location is not the best idea. You can only do this from the Contacts app, not in Recently menu in the Phone app. There is a better method, a way you can save a contact to a non-default account.
Launch the Contacts app and before you click + button, click Groups button. This page will show you all the connected accounts that have contact sync enabled and your existing groups.
Here, uncheck the default account, in my case Gmail. You have now hidden all contacts from the default account. If you have more than one account, uncheck all accounts other than the one you want to use.
Now, go back to the Contacts app, tap + , fill in the details and save the contact as usual. Once back, you’ll see the contact listed in the app’s home screen.
return Groups screen and reactivate other accounts. Contacts you saved when other accounts were hidden will be in their old location. And of course, they will be synced to the server so you can access them from the web or any connected service. As for me, I can see it on iCloud.com, which is proof enough for me.
