Step 2. How to Make Your Own Alarm Sound for Free on iPhone Using GarageBand
Step 1: Install and open the GarageBand app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the (+) icon at the top.
Note: If you are using the app for the first time, skip to Step 3.
Step 3: Swipe left and tap the Recorder screen.
Step 4: Click on the three-bar icon in the upper left corner to enter the main editing screen.
Step 5: Now, import the sound file that you want to create a custom alarm sound for. Tap the Loop icon right next to the Settings icon.
Step 6: Tap the Files tab, then select ‘Browse items from the Files app’ at the bottom.
Step 7: You will be taken to the Recents folder. If you find an audio file you want to use, tap it to import. If not, tap Browse, find the sound you want, and tap it.
Step 8: Now, hold the file and drag it to the top of the screen. Leave the file at the top of the GarageBand editing interface.
Step 9: To adjust the length, drag the white bars on both sides and press the Play button to preview.
Step 10: When you’re satisfied, tap the down arrow and select My Songs. The generated alert will be saved and you will be taken to the GarageBand Recents folder.
Step 11: To use an audio file as an alarm sound, long press on the created song and select Share.
Step 12: Choose Ringtone format.
Step 13: Click the Name field to rename the ringtone. Then click Export.
Step 14: After exporting, touch Ok in the dialog box.
Step 3. How to Set Custom Alarm Sound on iPhone
Once you’ve created your custom alarm tone using GarageBand as illustrated in the steps above, it’s time to set the newly created tone as your custom alarm tone. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Go to the Alarms tab and tap the alarm whose tone you want to change.
Step 3: Tap Sound.
Step 4: Scroll up and you will see a custom tone in the Ringtones section. Tap the sound you want to use as a custom alarm sound. Tap Back to return to the previous screen.
