Are you getting unsolicited calls from a creepy stalker or brokerage firm after you buy stock through them? Maybe you feel frustrated with constantly deleting spam messages that you seem to receive dozens of messages a day. Call manager is what you need to get rid of all these problems.
If you own an Android smartphone, NetQin is an application capable of performing the requested task smoothly. It’s a great Android app that blocks incoming calls, unwanted messages and even protects your privacy at the same time.
Download and install NetQin Mobile Manager from Android Market. After the application is successfully installed, activate it. Immediately after launching the program, you will see a control panel from which you can manage all your calls and text messages.
The program has six modules: Blocked SMS, Blacklist Blocked Calls, Backup, Remove Privacy and PrivateSpace. I will talk about all these modules one by one so that you have a good understanding of the application and all its capabilities.
Black list
When you click on this module, you will be taken to the blacklist and whitelist controls. In this section you can add all the numbers you want to blacklist (the numbers you want to block). You can add numbers manually or from contacts, calls and SMS logs.
If you only want to join a specific number of numbers and ignore the rest, add specific numbers to the Whitelist section. We can toggle the blocking rules from the Settings menu.
Once you are on Mobile management console press the menu button and click Settings. The settings are divided into two sections, Call Blocking and SMS Blocking. Here you can configure all Call and SMS blocking rules like block blacklist, allow only whitelist, block or accept all etc.
You can also configure an automatic SMS replyer with a personalized message to the caller to let them know you are busy at the time.
That basically includes the app’s blacklisting feature, but the app is much more than simply a feature to reject blacklisted numbers.
Support
The backup module allows you to back up your contacts to the NetQin server so you never lose your contacts even if, God forbid, you lose your phone. Just sign up with the service and start backing up.
Privacy Removal Tool
With this module, you can quickly and permanently delete your call and text message history to protect your private data when you feel a situation could lead to its disclosure.
Call and SMS blacklist
This module shows only calls and messages that have been rejected by the system.
Private space
This module is specific to the premium version and so I don’t know much about it but here is the product description:
Automatically move private contacts’ messages and call logs to PrivateSpace so they don’t appear in your phone’s regular SMS and call logs.
Keep it a secret by hiding the icon that shows up on your home screen so that no one knows you’re using PrivateSpace.
Protect your REAL space by creating one or more fake spaces. If someone wants your password, show them the fake password!
My judgment
NetQin Mobile Manager is a great application to manage incoming calls and messages. The ability to backup and restore in the cloud is an added advantage that is completely free. Try it and let us know how it works for you.
