To examine the satellite in Starfield, you need to disable all ship systems expect for the engine to avoid being detected.

Then, approach the satellite beacon in 500 meters and activate it to complete the objective.

Here’s how to do this:

Disable all ship systems except for one or two bars in your Engines.
Approach the satellite beacon, press “E” then “R” (or “A” then X” on Xbox) to activate it.

After you’ve activated the satellite, you’ll learn that Moara is going to the Nova Galactic Staryard for emergency repairs.

You need to travel towards Luna to reach the Nova Galactic Staryard.
