You can’t upgrade Fallout 4 to the PS5 version because it’s only available for PlayStation Plus Extra members.
According to Bethesda Studios on Twitter, the Fallout 4 upgrade is available to PlayStation Plus Extra members through the PlayStation Game Catalog.
They mentioned that the update is currently not available for the PS5 Catalogue or PS+ Essentials.
Bethesda Studios did not provide additional information of whether the upgrade will be available for the two.
If you own a PS4 disc copy of the game, you need to insert it into your PS5 when you want to download or play the PS5 version of the game.
How to Download PS5 Version of Fallout 4
- Navigate to Fallout 4, scroll down, and select the three dots.
- Select “Select version”.
- Download the PS5 version of Fallout 4.
- Select the PS5 version of Fallout 4.
