I’m an avid downloader and on average, I use about 5 GB of bandwidth data per day. Another fact is that I don’t use a download accelerator on my computer to download these files.
Nowadays, inbuilt browser download manager is as good as 3rd party freeware. Moreover, when I download most of these files as a free user from sharing services. files, I’ll have to go back to the browser’s download manager as they don’t support download accelerators for free accounts.
However, unlike download managers, these browsers don’t prompt if I want to see the files in the folder after the download is complete. You have to do the task manually. So let’s see how you can open the download folder for each file you download in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer.
Chrome browser
There are two ways you can open the downloads folder in Chrome. If file download information is available in the status bar, click the small arrow next to the file box and select Show in Folder.
If you want to open the folder after starting a new session or if you have closed the status bar, click the wrench icon in the top right and open the Downloads page. You can click the option Open download folder to open your default download window or you can click Show in Folder next to each individual downloaded file if you save different files in different locations.
firefox
Whenever you try to download a file in Firefox, a download window opens. Once the download is complete, you can right click on the file and select options Open containing folder. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+J to quickly open the download window.
Opera
Opera stores all file download details on the download page (Ctrl+J). Open the download page once the file has been successfully downloaded, right click on it and select Open folder. The folder containing the specific file to be downloaded opens.
Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer, you’ll see a pop-up at the bottom of the page as soon as the file is successfully downloaded. In the pop-up window, click the . button Open folder to open the download folder.
If you closed the pop-up control box, click the Settings button in IE and select View downloads to open the download page (Ctrl+J). Here, click the link below the location field to open the folder.
