His internships include valuable experiences at Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance in Dubai International Financial Centre, where he contributed to the development of corporate governance guidelines.
As a Shari’ah Committee Member for various institutions such as Affin Islamic Bank, EXIM Bank, Zurich Takaful, and others, Dr. Zulkifli has accumulated vast experience in applied banking and finance, including takaful. As an accomplished academic, he has published numerous articles in reputable journals, presented papers at conferences both locally and internationally, and authored a book titled ‘Shari’ah Governance in Islamic Bank,’ which won the MAPIM Best Publication in the category of social science in 2013. Professor Zulkifli has been recognized with the Global Islamic Finance Award as the Upcoming Scholar in 2016.
His research interests focus on corporate and Shari’ah governance and regulation in Islamic finance. On December 12, 2023, Prof Dr. Zulkifli Hasan was sworn in as a Senator in the Dewan Negara.
