Backup & Restore Firefox, Chrome, Opera & Internet Explorer Data With FavBackup

In a previous post, I talked about how you can backup and restore Google Chrome Profile data. This tool is great for users who work on Chrome but you prefer some other browser like Firefox or Opera and use it as your default browser.

Today I would like to introduce you to FavBackup, a great free tool to backup and restore your important data on most popular browsers. One can create a backup of bookmarks, browsing history, cookies etc with just a snap of a finger. The user interface is very impressive and easy to use.

Using FavBackup, you can backup and restore Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and even Flock.

How to backup and restore browser data with FavBackup

In this guide, we will show you how to backup and restore Google Chrome settings, but the method is almost the same across all browsers.

Step 1: Download the portable version of FavBackup, extract it anywhere in your computer and run FavBackup.exe.

Step 2: Select the browser you want to backup from the backup tab of the ribbon.

Note: During data recovery, FavBackup will delete all data of the current profile. If you want to keep the settings, you can create a new profile during data recovery.

My judgment

FavBackup can be very useful if you frequently use multiple browsers. From now on, you no longer have to worry about losing data and browser settings when reinstalling the operating system or when the system crashes. The portability and ease of use of the tool is also an added advantage.
