Instagram’s sticker collection is growing day by day. From simple time and place stickers, we have come a long way to a wide variety of interactive stickers like hashtags, GIFs, image stickers, polls, etc.
Speaking of polls, there are three ways to interact with your followers or consult on Instagram. The first poll is a basic poll where you give two choices and people choose between them. If you’re a regular Instagram user, you’ve probably seen at least one question sticker in the past few days. Although this sticker is very easy to use, some people are still not familiar with all its features. So, in this post, we decided to dive into answering questions (no pun intended) about question stickers.
How to use question stickers on Instagram
Before we move on to the FAQ, let’s understand how to add them. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Launch the Instagram app and tap the Camera icon in the top left corner to open the stories screen. Then take a new photo or upload one from your gallery. Tap the Stickers icon present at the top.
Step 2: From the sticker gallery, tap the question sticker to add to your story. You will get a box that says “Ask me a question”.
Step 3: If you want people to ask you random questions, you should start. Just tap the Send To button and your story with this sticker will be published.
This is the interesting part. Instagram allows you to change the question, and you don’t always use the default Ask me a question.

1. Change the question
Since the release of question stickers, very few people on my list have changed the default question. It’s amazing considering how easy it is to do that. And one should do it.
For example, if you are in London, you can ask people to recommend places with the best Indian food. Could be useful, no?
To change the question, all you need to do is tap the Ask me a question label. Once you do that, you’ll be able to enter your new question.
2. Change background color
While typing a new question, you must have noticed the color palette at the bottom. This is used to change the background color of the question sticker. Currently, you cannot set the font style for it, but the font color will automatically change based on the background color.
To apply a new background color to the sticker, tap the color of your choice.
3. Add more stickers
One of the good things about Instagram is that you can use multiple stickers in a story. Thankfully, the same feature is also available for question labels.
So if you want to add a GIF or any other sticker to the same story you asked the question, you can do that.
However, there is a limitation. You cannot add polls and emoji slider stickers to the same story with question stickers. You must use one of them at a time.
4. View reply
After you add a sticker to your story, other people will be able to reply to it. The replies won’t appear in the message but will be available in the story itself.
To see replies, tap the Your Story icon on the home screen, then tap the Viewed icon in the bottom left corner.
On the next screen, you’ll see all the answers to your question along with the people who viewed your story.
5. Non-anonymous question-answer label
Unlike Sarahah, the app became famous last year for its anonymous responses, the answers in question stickers are not anonymous. This means that when you answer a question, that person will be able to see your username.
6. Post a reply to your story
There are two ways to interact with the answers you receive to your question. First, you can send them a personal message and second, if you want, you can share their feedback on your story. To do so, simply tap the response and select the appropriate option from the menu.
When you tap the Share Feedback button, you’ll be taken to the familiar story screen. Here you can add stickers, doodles, and even text. You can also apply filters to the response.
Since Instagram doesn’t automatically add a username to the replies you post to your story, you can do so manually using the text tool in case you want to add it.
