When browsing the web, you often come across a website or a web page that you find interesting and want to share. So if you are using Google Chrome, you will have to copy the URL from the address bar. Fortunately, there are several ways to easily share sitelinks from Chrome.
Of course, you could just copy the link address and send it to someone via email or text message, but that’s not always convenient. Google certainly acknowledged this when it introduced more sharing options to Google Chrome.
In this post, we’ll cover Google Chrome sitelink sharing options for both mobile and PC. So let’s get started.
Chrome allows you to share sitelinks on all your devices, as long as you’re using the same Google account on all of them. This can be useful if you constantly mix PC and smartphone. Here’s how to do it.
On PC
Step 1: Launch Google Chrome on your PC. Navigate to the website you want to share.
Step 2: Click the Share button located to the right of the address bar at the top. Select ‘Send to your device’ from the resulting menu.
Step 3: Select the device you want to share the page with.
Step 4: Next, open Google Chrome on your other device and you will see a pop-up asking you to open the website. Click Open to access the link in a new tab.
On Android or iPhone
Similarly, to share a sitelink from the Google Chrome mobile app, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open Google Chrome on your phone. If you have Android, use the three-dot menu icon at the top to select Share from the resulting menu.
Similarly, iOS users can tap the share icon to bring up the share sheet.
Step 2: Next, select the ‘Send to your device’ option. Then select the device with which you want to share the link.
Step 3: On your other device, a pop-up will appear in Google Chrome. Click Open in a new tab to access the website.
Besides allowing links to be shared between devices, Chrome also allows you to convert website links into QR Codes. This can be useful if you want to share the sitelink with many people. This is the way.
On PC
Step 1: Open a website in Google Chrome. Click the Share button in the top right corner and select QR Code from the menu.
Step 2: A QR Code will appear. Optionally, you can also edit sitelinks from here. When done, click the Download button to save the QR Code as an image.
Once done, users can scan the QR Code with the camera app (or dedicated QR scanner app) to access the website link.
On Android or iPhone
Step 1: In the Google Chrome app, go to the website you want to share. Tap the three-dot menu icon (or the share button on iPhone) to explore your sharing options.
Step 2: Select the QR code from the list.
Step 3: A QR Code will appear on the screen. Click the Download button to save it as an image.
Unlike its desktop counterpart, you cannot edit sitelinks. Even so, you can switch to the Scan tab to scan the QR Code from here.
In addition to the above, you can also share the website link directly with your social accounts. This can be helpful if you’re looking to post sitelinks on your Facebook or Twitter feed. Here’s how to do it.
On PC
Click on the share button in the top right corner and select the social page to which you want to share the page. This will open the selected website in a new tab, allowing you to post the sitelink with a single click.
On Android or iPhone
Open Google Chrome on your phone and navigate to the website you want to share. Use the three-dot menu icon (or share button on iPhone) to open the share sheet. Select your preferred social site to share the site link directly with your social accounts.
