Destiny 2’s Lost Sectors are mini-dungeons spread across several worlds, which serve an important purpose of improving your character. Destiny 2 adds new Exotic armor from time to time, and for the most part, you can only get the new pieces through the Lost Sectors of Legend or Master difficulty.
The Master and Legend Lost Sectors rotate daily, and during the Season of the Deep we can expect to find them on the Moon, in the Cosmodrome, and on the Throne World of Savathun.
Here’s everything you need to know about Destiny 2 Lost Sector today (July 8), as well as the Legend and Master Lost Sector rotations and the rewards to be earned in-game.

The Lost Master Sector today is also the Bay of Drowned Wishes in the City of Dreams. It just so happens that the Legend and Master Lost Sectors are always the same, so there’s no need to search for one or the other.
While you can tackle the daily Lost Sector rotation on any difficulty, for the most part, you’re better off sticking with Legend. There is a slightly higher chance to get an exotic drop on Master, but the difference is negligible. Master Lost Sectors is extremely high level, well beyond just hitting the Pinnacle cap.
In addition to the power difference, there are also more champions to deal with in Master Lost Sectors. If you want an extra challenge then by all means go for it. Just know that if your only goal is to get exotic armor, you should stick with Legend difficulty.

Exotic weapons are up for grabs in today’s Legend and Master Lost Sector.
Completing a Lost Sector in Legend of Master does not guarantee a specific armor or even an exotic drop, but they are very likely to happen. Each Lost Sector grants one type of armor, and you will only get the armor that applies to the character you are currently playing.

Every open world space in Destiny 2 has multiple Lost Sectors around it. The Lost Sectors have a particular symbol (pictured above), you can see it on the map indicating their locations. Use the symbol on the map to find the location, then look for the symbol on a wall that indicates the entrance to the Lost Sector.
Destiny 2 Lost Sectors work like short little dungeons. They occasionally have a few extra mechanics, but for the most part, they just involve fighting a large group of enemies and defeating a boss at the end.
Defeating the boss unlocks the chest, where you can get your reward. Regular completions don’t earn you much beyond the start of the game, but completing Lost Sectors on Legend or Master difficulty can earn you exotic armor.
