A new free update to the base game was released on July 18 in preparation for the next sims 4 horse ranch expansion pack, and we have the patch notes that include many new features.
This is one of the biggest patches of recent times for the sims 4, as players receive new recipes, CAS details, and much more. Also, the ability to paint roof tiles is finally being added to the game for free, which is great news.

We’ve broken down the most important patch notes with this free sims 4 update to the base game, so check out all the additions below, including new hair, ceiling tiles, and more.
Roof customization
I will not do it anymore sims players have to suffer a blank slate on all their builds. We finally have in-game ceiling tile customization and with it, a ton of new tile samples.
Floor tiles can now be placed on ceilings via build mode, which you’ll be able to see up close and personal with free cam mode.
There are new color swatches for three ceramic tiles, 14 wood floor designs, and 12 stone/brick mosaics, allowing sims players to decorate their roofs to their heart’s content.
New color swatches have also been given to the horizontal ladder-style fencing and single-panel single door.
CAS Articles
To reflect the theme of the next Sims 4 horse ranch pack up and add more inclusion for the Indigenous Peoples of America, Maxis has released three new hairstyles. These are named as follows:
- Double Braid
- simple braid
- long hair
There are also additional presets for eyes and brows in tapered, straight, and wavy shapes.
Finally, the free update to the base game will also include three new bag options under the eyes.

Although there are some traditional indigenous dishes that reach the Sims 4 horse ranch pack, Maxis has decided to include one in the base game for free.
Your Sims will now be able to cook Three Sisters Chili, a recipe known for including corn, beans, and squash in the same dish.
