Install PSP Type B Driver in Windows 7 64-Bit for RemoteJoy Lite

In the post where we saw you how to use PSP to play games on your computer screen, we had to install the specific PSP Type B driver for Windows to detect it. 32-bit users can directly run a VB script to install drivers, but there’s no easy way for 64-bit users to do the same.

As promised, today I will show you how to install the PSP Type B driver on a 64-bit Windows machine. Before you proceed, please make sure that you have copied all the necessary plugins to your memory card as shown in the RemoteJoy Lite guide we linked above.

Install Removed PSP Drivers

Step 1: Restart Windows 7 but at boot time press the F8 button repeatedly to enter Windows 7 advanced boot options. Actually, there is a specific time to press the F8 button, but i like to press it repeatedly right after the BIOS loads.

Step 2: In Windows 7 advanced boot options, select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement and start Windows 7.

Step 3: After Windows 7 boots, connect your PSP to your computer with a USB cable and see if the automatic USB mounting option is disabled. Open your PRO VHS menu with the Select button, activate the RemoteJoy Lite plugin and set your VHS menu.

Step 4: After resetting the VHS, open Windows Device Manager using Computer Properties. You will find “PSP” Type B in the Other Devices section with an exclamation mark icon. Right-click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.

Step 5: When Windows asks you for driver information, select Browse my computer for driver software.

Step 6: Browse for the folder containing the 64-Bit driver for PSP (the files included in the RemoteJoy lite Plugin are also shared in the previous article) and install the driver.

Step 7: Windows will give you a security warning. Click the Install this driver software anyway option to install the driver.

That’s it, you can now run the RemoteJoy lite GUI plugin to play PSP games on your computer in full screen mode.

Conclusion

You will have to start Windows 7 with driver enforcement disabled every time you want to use the RemoteJoy Lite plugin to play a game. At the moment, I don’t know how to permanently disable driver enforcement, but I’m following the forums and discussions regularly and will update the post as soon as I find a trick that works.
