Windows Live Writer is definitely one of the best when it comes to

blogging

use an offline tool. In my opinion, it tops the list among other things available in the market.

However, I tried to find out some more options and I found out that MS Word 2013 is not a bad candidate in the race. And so, we intend to walk you through the process of setting up MS Word as a blogging tool.

Quick Tip: Windows Live Writer is a program in the Windows Live Essentials suite. Here is a full review of the suite.

I recommend you start taking the steps while reading through. We go here.

Step 1: Create a new MS Word document. Do the same with Blog post sample as shown in the image below. If you don’t have it on the list, search for it.

Step 4: The next step will be to choose and configure your blog provider. For me it is WordPress so that’s what i chose. Click Next when you have selected.

Step 8: Click Alright on the dialog box below it. That will complete the setup and get you started.

How to publish an article

Post the setup and configuration process, you can start writing an article. You are free to insert images, format headers and subheads, insert hyperlinks, and do other things as usual.

When you’re ready to hit the web, navigate to Announced, expand the options and select your requirement. I suggest you always do a Publish as Draft and do a round of proofreading and formatting before moving on with the final post.

Conclusion

While MS Word may not be a powerful tool to help you write and publish content to your blog, you can’t deny the fact that it works quite well. I have tried it many times and each time the results and experiences leave me satisfied.

What is your blogging tool of choice? Do you prefer to write articles online in your browser or offline on your computer?
