Windows 7 introduced the “Action Center” feature to help users troubleshoot common problems. Helpful tool that unifies mail traffic from key Windows security and maintenance features, providing detailed troubleshooting tips and on-demand wizards. If there is a problem with the software or a problem in the hardware configuration, the Action Center icon will pop up on the taskbar, then provide steps to solve them.
However, Action Center may not always be effective due to frequent updates of apps and Windows itself. Although you can use the Problem Steps Logger to ask for help, you still have to wait for a resolution. This is where you may need to go to the Microsoft Troubleshooting Center.
Microsoft Fix it Center provides automated solutions for Windows products, periodically updating. You can get official one-click automated fixes directly from Microsoft, like an engineer sitting next to you.
This utility can be used on Windows XP SP3, Windows XP Pro (64-bit) SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2. You need an Internet connection to complete the installation.
Download and run the program. The installer will then prompt you to download specified troubleshooters based on your hardware and software. I recommend choosing all.
The advantages of registration are shown in the figure below. Create an account at Microsoft Fix it Center Online or not?… well, that’s up to you.
Now, once you get to the main program, click the “Run” button to the right of the Windows component that is causing the problem.
You can choose to automatically fix problems or just detect them.
If you used the second option, you can check the detailed report and then select the fixes to apply.
Once done, you can send feedback to Microsoft. It is optional.
Now you can choose another problem to fix or just start enjoying your refreshed PC. ????
See the Microsoft Troubleshooting Center (UPDATE: This tool is no longer available) to automatically fix Windows problems & errors.
Note: You can also visit the Microsoft Troubleshooting Solution Center to download standalone installers for specific problems.
