What Happens if You Unlink Instagram From Facebook
Before moving on to the steps, it’s better to know what happens if you unlink Instagram from Facebook.
- Cross-posting will stop: This is obvious, as this might be the primary reason why you want to unlink Instagram from your Facebook page or account. However, if you find the feature a convenience, it’s better not to unlink.
- All the previously shared content will remain: If you were hoping that unlinking your accounts would also delete the previously shared posts, you are in for disappointment. You must manually delete those posts.
- No changes in privacy settings: While Facebook will sync the privacy settings between two platforms when you link Instagram with it, it won’t be reverted upon unlinking.
- No notification for Facebook friends: When you disconnect Facebook and Instagram, your friends from Facebook won’t be notified to follow you or your friends on Instagram. The same is the case with your followers on Instagram.
