How to Approve New Participants in WhatApp Group on Mobile, Desktop, and Web

You can create WhatsApp Groups with your contacts and share messages, media and documents with a large group. You can also create and share polls in your WhatsApp Groups whenever you make a decision or just play a fun game.

Another new feature, especially for group admins, is the ability to approve new participants before being added to your WhatsApp Group. In this post, we will demonstrate how to approve new participants in your WhatsApp Groups on Mobile, Desktop and Web.

How useful is this feature?

If you have created a WhatsApp Group, you can now choose as an Admin, which contacts can become a member of the group. You can decide who you can add or remove whenever you share a link to join your WhatsApp Group with other contacts or in the WhatsApp Community. This prevents unwanted access to your group chats. This feature is part of WhatsApp Groups settings.

Approve new participants in WhatsApp Groups on mobile devices

WhatsApp has announced this feature to approve new participants in your WhatsApp group for iPhone (v23.6.74 or later) and Android (v2.23.6.74 or later). We recommend installing the respective versions depending on your Android or iPhone.

After you update your app, here’s how to enable and use the feature. The steps remain the same for both Android and iPhone users.

Step 1: Press the keyboard shortcut Command + Spacebar to open Spotlight Search, type application, and press Back.

Not everyone is allowed

For close chats with friends and family or important groups with colleagues, this feature gives you more control as your WhatsApp Group Administrator. But what if you accidentally join a WhatsApp group and want to leave that group without anyone noticing? To skip notifying anyone of your intentions, WhatsApp gives you the option to leave the group without anyone knowing. It’s sneaky, but it can be a much-needed break.
