Some people don’t like to lock their phone. Instead, they want to lock individual apps or hide items in different apps. Like hiding some pictures or private notes. When it comes to notes, a lot of them contain personal information. Anyone with access to our phones can read them.
Luckily, Xiaomi allows you to hide your notes easily in the pre-installed app. Interestingly, it even has a pre-written note that shows how to hide the note. But sadly, it doesn’t mention anything about unhiding them.

Unhide notes in Mi phone
Here are the detailed steps.
Step 1: Open the Notes app. Yes, the notes are hidden in the app.
Step 2: On the main screen of the application, swipe slowly from the search bar to the bottom of the screen (near the charging point).

Step 3: After a successful swipe down, you will be taken to a password protected screen. Here, you need to enter the password that you set up when hiding your note.
The password is different from your phone password. It also applies to hidden items in messages, photos, and files. So, if you don’t enter any password while hiding notes, then use the password you set up to hide everything in other apps.
Step 4: You will see all your hidden notes here. Now to show them, there are two ways, also used to hide notes.
Method 1:
Tap and hold the note. From the options available at the bottom, tap Unhide.
Method 2:
Tap the note to open it. Then tap the three-dot icon at the top right of the screen. From the menu, select Unhide.

Extra Tip 1: Change the Privacy Protection Key
The password used to view and unhide hidden items in the Mi app can be changed from the settings.
To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open Settings on your phone. Then go to Lock screen & password.
Step 2: Tap Password protect privacy. You will be asked to enter your current passcode.
Step 3: Click Change password. Again, you will be asked to verify your password. Then you will have to draw a new pattern.
Note:
While hiding or showing notes (or items in other apps), you will be asked to link your Mi account. That’s useful in case you forget your private key. You can then easily reset the password, which is not possible if the Mi account is not linked. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to access the hidden items any other way, and you’ll have to factory reset your device to remove them.
Note:
Instead of creating a note first and then hiding it, Xiaomi allows you to directly create a hidden note. To do that, go to the hidden notes section by swiping down on the Home screen of the Notes app. Then tap the add icon. Such notes will not be visible on the main screen of the application.
Pro tip:
Just like regular notes, you can also place hidden notes on the home screen to access them quickly. No need to worry because the content will be hidden. You will also be asked to enter your password to view those notes on the home screen.
To put a hidden note on the home screen, go to the hidden notes section and open the note. Tap the three-dot icon and select Set on Home screen.
Move Mi Notes to other apps
Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to move your notes from Mi Notes to other note-taking apps like Google Keep, OneNote, Evernote, etc. You’ll have to move them manually.
For that, follow these steps:
Step 1: Launch the Mi Notes app. Then open a note.
Step 2: Click the Submit button at the top. Select Share note as text from the options.
Step 3: You will be provided with a list of installed apps on your phone. Make sure that the application to which you have to transfer the notes is installed on your phone. Select it from the list. The note will be copied to that application.
Repeat the steps for other notes.
Prevention is better than cure
