Show images instead of videos or names in zoom meetings
Showing your photos in Zoom is not rocket science. You need to set up your profile picture in Zoom. As a new user, you won’t do it on Zoom yet. So the time is now. After setting the image will automatically appear on the screen to change the name if the video is turned off.
Below are the detailed steps for both mobile and PC apps.
Keep photos instead of videos or names when zooming in on PC
There are two ways to change or add photos in Zoom on PC.
Method 1: Add a photo before joining the meeting
To do that, launch the Zoom app and click on your initials in the top right corner. Select Change my picture from the menu.
You will be taken to the web version of Zoom. Click Change on the image icon.
Then click Upload and add a photo of your choice. Adjust the image to show the area that you want to display. Finally, click Save.
Note: Images must be less than 2 MB.
After you save it, open the Zoom desktop app. You will see your image in the upper right corner.
Then, turn off your video by clicking Turn off my video when you’re about to join the meeting, or clicking Stop video while you’re in the meeting. You can even right-click the video and select Stop Video.
Pro Tip: Use the keyboard shortcuts Alt + V (Windows) and Command(⌘)+Shift+V (Mac) to turn the video on or off.
Your image will replace the video.
Note: To edit or delete a photo, repeat the steps.
Method 2: Add a photo in a Zoom meeting

Show images instead of videos in the Zoom mobile app

Now turn off your video before joining the meeting. Or you can tap the Stop Video option at the bottom of the meeting.

Tips and tricks for profile pictures

See other people’s profile photos
When you’re in a meeting, you can view the participant’s profile picture by pausing their video. Only possible if you are the host of a meeting. To do so, right-click on the video preview screen and select Stop Video. You’ll have to give them permission to show the video again as they won’t be able to do so on their own.
Hide participants with profile pictures

To hide non-video participants, right-click the speaker’s window preview in your meeting. Select Hide non-video participants.
To review them, click Total non-video participants at the top. Select Show non-video participants.
