The craziness that defines Snapchat isn’t just limited to the Snapchat app. You can use its filters in most of your PC video chat applications. When we say video apps, we mean even official video chat apps like Skype, Microsoft Teams, Hangouts, and even Zoom. Here, we’ll tell you how to add or remove Snapchat filters from your Zoom meetings.
It is possible with the help of Snapchat’s desktop application called Snap Camera. You cannot publish to your Snapchat account from the desktop app. You can only use it to add filters to your photos or videos.

How to add a filter to a zoom meeting
To use Snapchat filters for your Zoom meeting, you need to install the Snap Camera app, run it in the background, and change the camera app in Zoom. Here are the detailed steps:
Step 1. Install Snap Camera App
Download Snap Camera app from the link below. The minimum requirements for Snap Camera to work are Windows 7 SP1 (64 bit) or later and MacOS 10.11 or later.
Open the link above. Scroll down on the page and check the box next to ‘I’ve read…’ Enter your email address and click the download button for the computer you require.
Once the file has been downloaded, click on it to install. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Step 2. Run the application
Once the Snap Camera app is successfully installed, launch it. You will see a live camera preview. Click on any filter from the list available at the bottom.
Now, to use filters in other apps like Zoom, Hangout, Microsoft Teams, you need to keep the filter running in the background. So minimize the app by clicking on the minimize icon. Do not close the application.
If you see No camera input, close the app and then reopen it. Or, click the settings icon in the upper right corner and select the appropriate camera from the list.
Note: The Snap Camera app will continue to use the camera while the app is running in the background. If you are not using it, close the application.
Step 3. Change Camera in Zoom
Finally, you need to change the input camera in your video app. In this case, Zoom. The steps vary depending on whether you’ve joined the meeting or not. Let’s check both.
Note: Keep running Snap Camera in the background to use its filters.
Method 1. Change the camera before joining the meeting
Step 1: Launch the Zoom app on your PC. If you’re not already in the meeting, click the settings icon in the top right corner.
Step 2: Click the Video tab from the left panel. Then, select Snap Camera from the drop-down box available next to Camera.
Close the window. Your meetings will now use video from the Snap Camera app. If you’re using a filter from Snap Camera, that filter will show up in the Zoom meeting.
Note: To remove a filter, repeat the steps and change the camera to the other one listed in the Camera drop-down box.
Method 2. Change the camera in the meeting
If you are part of a meeting and you decide to surprise your teammates, you can change the camera immediately. To do that, click the small up arrow next to Start Video in your meeting. Select Snap Camera from the list. That’s it. Any active filters on your Snap Camera will reflect in your ongoing Zoom meeting. Open the Snap Camera app to change the filter.
To remove the filter, select a different camera when you click the small up arrow.
Fix: Snapchat filter not working when zooming
In case the filters don’t work in the Zoom app, close the Zoom app and try again. You should also try restarting your PC. If the problem persists, uninstall Snap Camera first, then Zoom. Then reinstall them.
Tips and tricks for using Snap Camera on PC
Here are some helpful tips to get the best out of Snap Camera on your PC.
The Snap Camera app is loaded with lots of cool filters. Sometimes we discover a unique filter that we want to share with others. For that, hover over the filter. Click the three-dot icon and select the Copy Lens link. Share the link with your friends. You can also share it on a Zoom chat.
Favorite your filter
If you use a certain filter often, you can add it to your favorites list. For that, hover over the filter. Then tap the star icon.
To view starred items, click the start icon that appears in the top left corner of the Snap Camera app.
Create hotkey
For quicker access to your filters and other functions in the Snap Camera app, such as taking pictures, starting/stopping recording, etc., you can create hotkeys for them. Hotkeys are certain combinations of keys that you need to press to start the function.
To add a hotkey for functions, click the settings icon in the top right corner of the Snap Camera app. Then, scroll down and enter your hotkeys in the available boxes. That is, press the keys together.
To create a hotkey for a filter, click on the filter and you will see a Custom Trigger option on the video preview window. Enter hotkey. Now, whenever you want to access the filter, press the hotkeys on your keyboard.
Be careful
Adding Snapchat filters to your videos is quite fun. However, we recommend limiting its use to informal meetings as not everyone likes the idea of talking bananas or potatoes. So use it once in a while when you know other participants will be fine with it.
