How to reduce photo size on iPhone or iPad
There are several ways to compress photos on iPhone or iPad. We’ll start with the default tools and move on to third-party apps to get the job done.
1. Crop a photo in the Photos app
You can crop the image, remove unwanted parts from the image, and reduce the file size.
Step 1: Open the Photos app on your iPhone and select an image.
Step 2: Tap Edit at the top. Select Cut. You can use default templates to crop images to specific aspect ratios. Make the necessary adjustments and press Done.

2. Change file format from camera settings

Apple has introduced a new High Efficiency Image Container (HEIC) format that replaces JPEG and PNG. HEIC provides high quality images at a smaller size. You can also change the image file type using the default image viewing app on your Mac. Go through the steps below.
