How to Put a Picture on Android Keyboard

It’s a great way to personalize your phone and surprise everyone around you. This feature is usually present in Themes but is not very obvious. But don’t worry, here we will show you how to do it on popular Android keyboard apps like Gboard, SwiftKey, Fleksy and Samsung Keyboard.

Gboard

Gboard comes with many cool features and adding wallpapers is one of them. You can also change its appearance with various themes.

Here’s how to add photos to Gboard.

Step 1: Open Gboard and tap the G icon to display the options. Then click Install.

Step 2: Go to Topics. On the Themes screen, tap the theme with the More icon under My Themes. It is usually the first topic.

Step 3: You will be asked to choose a wallpaper. Navigate to the image you want to keep. Then adjust the width, height and brightness of the image. Next, press the Done button.

Step 4: Turn off the key border in case you don’t like it. Finally, press Apply.

Step 5: Go back to the keyboard and you will see a new wallpaper waiting for you.

If you want to edit an existing background, go to Gboard Settings > Theme. Here you will find all the custom themes in the first section. Click the one you want to re-edit.

SwiftKey

To set a background image on SwiftKey, follow these steps:

Step 1: Launch SwiftKey in any app and tap the little plus icon in the top left corner of the keyboard.

Step 2: Then tap the Settings icon and tap another Settings icon in the upper right corner. You will be taken to SwiftKey Settings.

Step 3: Once in Settings, tap on Themes. Then go to the Customize tab and tap Get Started.

Step 4: Click the Add Image button and navigate to the image you want to use.

Step 5: Adjust the width by dragging the red borders, and adjust the density of the background if desired. Click Done.

Step 6: You will see a preview of the keyboard. You can now hide the border and enable the icon. Finally, tap Done in the upper right corner.

Your SwiftKey with your own image is ready to use now. If you want to edit then go to Custom tab in SwiftKey Themes and edit.

Unlike Gboard and SwiftKey which offer free themes, you need to pay for some themes in Fleksy. But if the free themes don’t appeal to you much, you can create a custom theme to your liking in Settings.

Here’s how to add images to Fleksy Keyboard.

Step 1: Launch Fleksy in any app and tap the smiley icon at the bottom. Then select Install from it.

Step 2: Under Themes, tap the More icon in the My Themes section.

Step 5: You will be returned to the Theme Builder screen. Here, swipe left to see other keyboard options like key color, word suggestion color, etc. Adjust them to your liking.

Samsung Keyboard

Samsung Keyboard does not allow you to keep your own photos in the background. However, you can change its color and theme.
