It’s only been a month since Google Plus launched but the charts of its growth and popularity are growing exponentially. Still in invite beta only, it has won the hearts of a large number of people through innovation in sharing and communication.
Although Google Plus is the most loved, many people still like Facebook and Twitter better than before. If you’ve switched to Google Plus but don’t want your Twitter and Facebook friends to keep up, SGPlus for Chrome can help.
What is SGPlus?
SGPlus is a nifty Chrome extension that consolidates all your daily social media traffic into one place. It gives the control to update your Facebook and Twitter timelines right through Google Plus, thus saving you the hassle of updating individual lines.
How to update
Step 1: Download and install the SGPlus Chrome extension from the Chrome web store. Once the extension is successfully installed, you will see an orange shortcut on the Google Toolbar on G+. It’s the SGPlus configuration button.
Step 2: To post to Facebook and Twitter using SGPlus, you need to grant it the necessary privileges to access your account. You can add your Facebook and Twitter accounts using the respective buttons next to the SGPlus configuration button.
Step 3: Once you have verified your account, you are done. The next time you choose a circle for your G+ status update, you can also select Facebook and Twitter sharing options from within the share window.
Step 4: Now every time you update your G+ stream, SGPlus will update your Facebook and Twitter timeline for you.
My judgment
Most of my friends have switched to Google Plus but still prefer Facebook or Twitter. This makes it hard for me to reach all of them because updating the timelines of all the services is out of scope.
