Desktop computers have sophisticated anti-virus programs to protect you from the dangers of accessing the dark corners of the internet. You can’t say the same for your Android phone.
Android’s openness is one of the best things about the platform, but it can be a double-edged sword. Unlike iOS, Android apps have open access to your personal data – including calls, messages, browser history, etc. Although most apps use this access. a constructive way – to improve those functions, but a lot of apps and websites have bad motives.

What is malware?
The word malware comes from malware. Malware can be just a few lines of code or an entire suite of software. Their purpose is to get into your device without being flagged, sit there and steal your precious data. Malware on your phone can track your calls, texts, and sometimes send emails and messages through your device without your knowledge.

How does disconnect work?
Disconnect is an application that blocks malware and malicious ads. The second thing is why it is not available on Play Store. The majority of Google’s revenue comes from selling ads, which is why Google doesn’t allow ad blockers.
While Disconnect is not an ad blocker, it does block malicious ads and that was enough for Google to ban it from the Play Store. But this being Android, side-loading apps is easy.
How Disconnect works by establishing a VPN connection from your phone to its server. Disconnect clearly states that this connection is not to reroute any data. That means all your browsing data won’t go through their servers and your browsing speed won’t be affected either.
VPN connection is for data scanning/monitoring. It is used to identify and block malicious content.
Install and set Disconnect
To download Disconnect, point any browser on your phone to www.disconnect.me/m. The apk file will start downloading after you give permission.
While the app is downloading, go to Setting -> Protect and activate Unknown sources. This will allow you to install apps that are not downloaded from the Play Store.
Now tap download apk from notification drawer and tap Setting.
Open the app and tap Communication to enable basic protection. You will be asked to authenticate the VPN connection. Check option says I trust this app and press ALRIGHT.
Now the basic monitoring has started and you should see the app in the notification drawer. The job of a filter is basically to block trackers from collecting your personal information like calls, messages, and browsing habits.
Next, tap Malicious advertising button. This runs an ongoing check between ads running on your device and a filter list of malicious ads (from over 2500 ad services) on Disconnect’s servers. When the app finds a match, it will turn off the ads so as not to harm your device.
