From angry superheroes to smiling cartoon characters, WhatsApp stickers allow you to do a lot when it comes to expressing your emotions in chats. But what if I said there was a super easy method to create your own custom WhatsApp stickers?
Yep, you read that right. Using a combination of smart apps, you can edit your photos and turn them into neat little stickers.
Our method will use a combination of four apps to give your photos an interesting twist. Depending on your choice and preference, you can skip one or two apps.
Let’s see how to do this.
Note
Step 1: Add a fun
MSQRD is a pretty old name in the live filter business. From adorable animal faces to movie stars, this app lets you do a lot when it comes to spice up everyday images. All you have to do is load the app, click and save as many random images as you can.
If you find the MSQRD filters a bit old and limited (the app was last updated in 2016), the next best option is Face Camera. It has tons of filters, masks and effects and is perfect for any selfie lover.
What I like most about it is the neat categorization. All effects and filters are neatly organized under specific headings. Just download the filters, select them and click.
Pro Tip: Another great way to add a touch of art is through apps like Portra and Prisma
The trick is to choose a filter that is unique but also shows off your funny expressions.
Step 2: Make the BG image transparent
After you’ve captured your funny side, it’s time to remove the background and give the sticker the desired shape. Also, since WhatsApp only accepts stickers in PNG format, this is a necessary step.
Background Eraser is the best app for this task. This app allows you to remove the background manually or you can take the help of Auto Select feature. As the name suggests, it removes the background by automatically recognizing the same color.
All you have to do is select a specific area. Make sure you maximize the brush size when making selections. The Magic option eliminates scattered items. Also, make sure to pay special attention to the edges and corners. Click Done, when you have completed the first step.
The next step is to smooth the edges to give the image a nice border. Once done, save the image.
Step 3: Create stickers!
After all the steps of preformatting the images, it’s time to do the actual work — turning these images into stickers. To do so, get the Personalized sticker for WhatsApp app.
However, make sure you have more than three PNG images best arranged in a folder. That’s because WhatsApp has a limit that allows you to only import a sticker pack if it has more than three stickers. And organizing them into folders makes it easy to export them as packages.
When you open the app you will see all the PNG images and you have to tap the Plus icon to add them. If you want to separate the images into different packs, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right and select the Create sticker pack option.
Give it an appropriate name, select the sticker, and tap the Bookmark icon. Select More on the next prompt and say hello to be exclusive! So next time, when someone submits a simple sticker, send one from your collection and watch them amazed.
Bonus points: Download WhatsApp Beta
Stickers not showing on your WhatsApp? With the full beta program, it looks like you have to wait a little longer for them. No more. WhatsApp Beta apk file can be the perfect solution.
All you have to do is sideload it, just like any other apk file.
Note
Let your creativity run wild
Creating unique WhatsApp stickers requires a bit of creativity along with patience. But rest assured that with these stickers, you will stand out from the rest in group chats. In addition, you can also experiment with other images such as logos, sayings, pet images.
