Google Assistant — an incredibly smart and intelligent personal assistant — has officially launched with the Pixel smartphone. And since then, it has won the hearts of many with its mischievous pranks. From searching for directions to finding your favorite lyrics, there’s a lot it can do. The good news is — it can now be easily downloaded with just a few simple tweaks, so here’s how to get the Google Assistant on any phone.
So without further delay, let us quickly put together the adjustments to get your very own smart assistant.
Prerequisites
- Android version must be Marshmallow or higher.
#first. Log in
The first step involves logging into Google Services, more precisely, as a beta tester. All you have to do is open the Google App in the Play Store, scroll down the middle of the page, and tap the I’m in on the beta block.
If you are already a beta tester, move on to the next step.
The beta will be activated from anywhere in about 10-15 minutes. Once done, go back to the Play Store and update the Google Apps.
That’s it, you are now a beta tester. Simple enough, right?

#2. Become a Beta Tester (Again)
The second step involves you signing up for the beta program (again) for Google Play services. Play Services is pretty mysterious in its own way since you can’t find it in the Play Store (obviously). For this, Google Search will lend a hand. Go down to the app and search for Google Play services and tap the icon.
Do the same here, wait for confirmation for beta testers and then update the app.
Now that you’ve become a beta tester, now is the part where you train your voice recognition assistant.

#3. deputy training
You should now see that the Google app settings page includes a pair of new settings for the Assistant. The ‘assistant training’ section is hidden under Adjust settings in the ‘Ok Google’ detection.
Like Google Now, you’ll have to start repeating Ok Google a few times. Depending on the type of support requested, you can also choose to assist even when the screen is off or you are using another application. For best results, turn on the switch for screen background And Say ‘Ok Google’ anytime anywhere to Enable.
Congratulations, the app is all set up and ready to take your orders. Now it begs the question..what command?
What commands will the assistant execute?
Most of you probably already know about the multitude of things the Google Assistant can do. Among many other things, it can play you a song, check flight status, keep reminders, and even send messages on your behalf.
But what good is an assistant if it can’t get the daily news feed? Don’t worry, it not only fetches the news but also broadcasts the news for you.
However, for it to work well, you will have to first set up your preferences in the settings and arrange the channels to your liking. And before you know it, the deputy will sing it like a parrot.
How will you get it to play it? Simple commands like ‘Play News’ and ‘What’s News’ will do the task for you.
What are you looking for?
There are many hidden wonders in this application and I will leave the rest for you to discover. And the more you use it, the better it gets. And believe me when I say it, it can really do wonders and get the job done in a jiffy, with the added benefit of being hands-free. Best part, you can set Nick Name for yourself.
