How to Get Back the Old YouTube Layout

Did you recently get a new YouTube layout, but you hate it?

According to YouTube, the new layout is an experiment and its only rolled out to some users.

This test began on February 20, which changes the position of suggested videos and others.

How to Get Back the Old YouTube Layout

Here’s how to restore the old YouTube layout:

  1. Download the uBlock Origin extension on Chrome.
  2. Click on the puzzle icon on the top navigation bar.
  3. Click on the three dots next to uBlock Origin and select “Options”.
  4. Copy and paste this code into your filters:
    • www.youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.kevlar_watch_grid, false)
  5. Click on “Apply Changes” to restore old YouTube layout!

Tip: After you’ve applied the filters, you need to use YouTube keyboard shortcuts to navigate the website including toggling fullscreen (press “F”) and changing the volume (press the up and down keys).
