Streaming radio is great and all, but what happens in those dark times without an internet connection? Will you just sit around in silence? Are not. You will do something about it! You’ll record all that streaming music so you can listen to it whenever you want, and I’ll show you how.
How to record online radio?
radiation (window only ) is a special find that provides access to 12,000 (lots of!) radio stations. Interestingly, it also allows one-click recording. Even installation is quick with Radiosure. Simply visit the Radiosure Downloads page and select one of the three download links. I chose the CNET link because I trust that site the most.
Once downloaded, open the file and go through the usual installation steps (nothing complicated here). Once it is installed, launch it and follow me below.
How it works?
There is a search bar in the top right corner of the tool (shown below) that acts as your guide, displaying search results based on the keywords you enter.
When you’re ready to start recording, press the red Record button. Then there will be a red indicator included in the Green Equalizer (shown below). To stop recording, click the record button again.
One great feature, albeit small, is the warning message that pops up if you try to change the radio station while recording. Saved me from messing up perfect copies of songs a few times.
Right-clicking on the taskbar brings up a menu, which shows a list of various playback features, like the Favorites list and some standard Equalizer settings.
In the options menu, you have several customization options, including the ability to split recordings by track. Checking that box will cut your radio stream into individual tracks. There is also the option to avoid recording Replication song.
Although Radiosure offers access to 12,000 radio stations, they are guaranteed to cater to those who want more. If one of your favorite stations isn’t included, you can always add it to the list using Create New Station (also found in the right-click menu).
Speaking of favorites, adding a station to your favorites is done by selecting the heart icon and then selecting Add to favorites.
Radiosure may not be pretty and slick, but it’s an incredibly useful app with a ton of stations to choose from. Recording stations couldn’t be easier and I really appreciate the one-click interface.
