How to Delete Individual Site Cookies in Google Chrome

Cookies. No, not the delicious kind with chocolate, sugar, cream and good taste. I’m talking about Internet cookies, small pieces of information stored in your web browser consisting of strings of text. Most commonly, they’re used to store things like usernames so you don’t need to enter them every time you visit a website you visit frequently. As such, they’re harmless little things, just trying to make your browsing a little easier.

Now, sometimes you don’t want your username to be entered automatically on the website anymore. Normally you would have to delete all cookies stored by your browser, but what about the ones you want to keep? It would be helpful if you could get rid of cookies that store your Facebook username if you’re lending your computer to a jealous ex or your mom. In those cases, it would be helpful if you could choose which cookies to keep and which to delete.

Typically, a browser provides the ability to selectively delete site cookies. However, it’s not as simple as clearing all cookies or caches at once. In this tutorial, we’ll see how to do that in Chrome.

Step 4. In Content Settings, open All cookies and site data.. to display a complete list of cookie stores on your computer. They are arranged in alphabetical order by the names of the websites that have stored cookies in your browser.

Step 5. Feel free to browse through the list and choose as many cookies as you like. Once you’ve picked out a good list, no matter how long or short, scroll down to the bottom of the list to find the following mini-menu.

You can click Delete to delete only the cookie(s) you selected, or Clear All to delete all cookies in the list. To remove all cookies from a specific website, highlight the site folder and press Delete. This will delete all cookies listed in that folder.
