Why does my Overwatch 2 target not feel right?

Your Overwatch 2 objective is not suitable because you are probably playing in the PC lobby.

If you’re playing in the console PC lobby, Aim Assist is disabled by default.

Therefore, if you are using a controller, your aim will be less precise.

Many console players are complaining about this because it’s not fair to them.

“I love blizzards but this proves they don’t know anything about consoles. I discovered this today while playing when Cassidy realized there was no targeting support on Xbox. I bet this will be much easier on PC.”

“How is this in any way fair? PC players have a whole target to aim while I only have one thumb and they just need to turn off aim assist. Any”.

“When you play on Xbox and get the console, you have Aim Assist. And when you’re playing against a PC player in the lobby, Aim Assist is disabled. You did a great job”.

Overwatch 2 aim feels out of place

To fix the targeted feel of Overwatch 2, you need to reduce “Camera Shake” and turn off “HUD Shake” and “Reduce Menu Movement”.

You can change these settings in the accessibility tab by pressing Esc > Options > Accessibility > General.

If you’re playing on console, you’ll need to disable crossplay via Overwatch 2 settings to avoid entering the PC lobby.

When crossplay is turned off, you will only play against console players.

This will ensure that Aim Assist is always on.

Fix 1: Lower your motion settings

  1. Open Overwatch 2 and press “Esc”.
  2. Go to Options > Accessibility > General.
  3. Set “Camera Shake” to “Reduced”.
  4. Turn off “Shake HUD”.
  5. Turn off “Reduce menu movement.

Fix 2: Disable crossplay (for consoles)

For Xbox:

  1. Open your Xbox settings.
  2. Select Account > Online Privacy & Safety > Xbox Privacy.
  3. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer.
  4. Under “You can join online play”, select “Block”.

For PS4/PS5:

  1. Launch Overwatch 2.
  2. Press “Options” on your controller, then tap “Options” again.
