How to Create Safari Profiles in iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma

Apple has continuously improved Safari with each system update. The latest iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS Sonoma updates also come with improvements to Safari. The default browser on iPhone, iPad, and Mac has security add-ons and quality-of-life features like Profiles to enhance your browsing experience. Here’s how you can create Safari profiles in iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma.

Safari alternatives like Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome already support profiles. It allows you to separate your browsing history, extensions, bookmarks and other browsing details in different related profiles. It’s good to see Safari adopting the same thing across all platforms. Let’s test it in action, shall we?

What is Profile in Safari?

If you’ve used profiles in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome in the past, you’ll find yourself familiar with Apple’s implementation in Safari. It also allows you to create different profiles for your personal and work browsing preferences.

For example, you can create a profile in Safari and use it during business hours with specific extensions and bookmarks. When you get home, you can switch to your personal profile to stay away from work activities.

Safari profiles are useful when multiple people use your Mac or iPad. You can create profiles for each person and let them enjoy a personalized browsing experience. Now that you know the benefits of using profiles in Safari, give them a try.
