Unlike iPhone, you can check a number’s detailed call history on Android. You can view the call number, call time, date and duration. In this post, we’ll show you how to check a number’s call history on the Google Phone app, Samsung’s default Phone app, and popular third-party apps like Truecaller. Use the phone app to check on your Samsung Galaxy phone
Unlike other Android phone makers, Samsung doesn’t integrate the Google Phone app on Galaxy devices. The company has bundled a One UI Phone app for call management. This is how you can check the call history of a number on your Samsung Galaxy phone.
Step 1: Open the Phone app on your Galaxy phone.
Step 2: Move to the Recent tab.
Step 3: Select an unknown number or contact from the list.
Step 4: You can check the call duration and other shortcuts to call, or text the person.
Step 5: Tap the ‘i’ button and check the detailed call history from the following menu.
Step 6: You can check the date, time, incoming or outgoing call and how long the call is.
The above steps will only work if you had a recent call with a contact on your phone. For others, you can use the Samsung Contacts app and check the call history. This is the way.
Step 1: Swipe up from the home screen of your Samsung phone and open the app drawer menu.
Step 2: Find the contacts app and open it up.
Step 3: Select a contact or use the search bar (looks like a magnifying glass) at the top to find the contact.

Delete a number’s call history on a Samsung Galaxy phone
Samsung also allows you to delete call history with someone.
Step 1: Open the call history of a number following the steps above.
Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu in the bottom right corner and select Delete call from history.
Step 3: Tap the radio button next to the call history and select the Delete button at the bottom.
You can also select All at the top and delete the entire call history with the contact or unknown number.
Use Google’s phone app to check on Android
Unlike Samsung, most Android phone manufacturers use the Google Phone app by default. OnePlus, Nokia, Motorola, Vivo, and Pixel phones come with Google Phone to manage voice and video calls. Follow the steps below to check a number’s call history in the Google Phone app.
Step 1: Open the Google Phone app.
Step 2: Select a number or contact from the Recent tab.
Step 3: Touch History and check the call details from the following menu.
This is the only way to look through a number’s call history on Android using the Google Phone app. Unlike Samsung, you cannot use the Contacts app to check a contact’s call history.
Delete a number’s call history on Android
If you want to delete a number’s call history, you can follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open the Phone app and check the call history (refer to the steps above).
Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Clear history.
It will delete the entire call history with a contact on the phone.
Alternative: Use Truecaller App (Third Party)
